Zarach
Thousands of children in Dewsbury are going to sleep hungry and cold; without a proper bed of their own. Poverty is a real problem that has a significant effect on a child’s education. By providing something to eat and a good night’s sleep, we can give every child an equal chance to learn and succeed at school.
Zarach is a charity committed to helping children and families who are living in poverty crisis. They are active in schools and in the community. They see the problems that poverty causes every day, they understand that more should be done to help and they have the skills, passion and drive to make an immediate and real difference.
Dewsbury Elim is partnering with Zarach to run their Dewsbury hub, alongside Destination 211 (the bus ministry operated by Dewsbury Team Parish), to give every head in Dewsbury a bed.
How it Works
Referral
We receive referrals through our unique network of schools and partner organisations.
A short referral form is sent via email that will include permission from the parent/guardian.
Delivery
Within 7 days, we contact the family, prepare a Bed Bundle; which is delivered by our experienced team.
A Zarach Bed Bundle includes a brand-new Bed, Mattress, Duvet, Pillow, Bed Sheets, Pyjamas and Hygiene Kit. We also work with local partners to include Food Parcels and, if needed, a school uniform.
Support
Once contact is made with a family in crisis, our team assesses the best ways to support them further.
As a friendly-face, we can mediate between families and other support services, as well as making referrals.
