One of the consistent themes of the Bible and Jesus teaching is the need to care for those who cannot care for themselves. Concern for the needy is a value shared by all the churches in Dewsbury and a Homeless Project has been started under the auspices of the Churches Together in Dewsbury.

The work has built on the success of the Minster congregation in reaching and caring for the needy by providing meals and other assistance from the Minster refectory. A new drop-in centre has been opened at the Baptist Church run by a team of people from Dewsbury churches, where friendship, refreshment and help are offered to visitors with a view to showing them the love of Jesus in practical ways.
