Bible Facts - Miscellaneous Facts
The Bible contains 1189 chapters.

The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119, and the shortest is Psalm 117.
The longest verse is Esther 8:9.

For the last six years the plan has been to read one chapter a day and in effect we have read through the Bible twice.

For this year, we are going to read the Gospels and the life of Jesus.

This is '2010: A year to build'. It is our hope that as you take a few minutes each day to read the short passage that your life will be continuing to be built on the rock, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Before you begin:
  1. Find time free of distractions.
  2. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding.
  3. With a pen and notepad beside you read the passage.
  4. Write down any thoughts/questions you have.
  5. Pray, speaking to God about what you have read and written.

We begin the New Year with several days of passages from the New Testament which speak of Christ.

As best as we know we will read the Gospel story chronologically, but take into account Easter and Christmas so that we read these passages on the days we celebrate them in our lives.

May God bless you as you follow the plan and may you grow to know Jesus more.
